William V. "Bill" DeVuono passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with brain cancer on May 19, 2024.
Bill was the son of the late Charles and Irene DeVuono. He was born on March 28, 1946 in the Bartram Village section of Southwest Philadelphia. His family moved to Springfield when he was in Junior High. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1964 and Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1969. He worked as a retail pharmacist for Thrift Drugs in the McDade mall and then in Upper Darby. Later, he worked for Giant pharmacy in Kennett Square and Aldan.
He was a member of Holy Cross parish in Springfield since 1973. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia, watching Phillies games, a variety of music especially music from the 50’s and 60’s.
His favorite season was summer. He enjoyed beach time throughout the years in Wildwood, Margate and Ocean City. He absolutely loved being with his family. Family parties, holidays and other family functions were his favorite days.
Beloved husband of 54 years to Jean (nee: Bissinger) DeVuono; Loving Father to Susan (Mike) McDyer, Jeannie (John) Peiffer, Bill (Lisa) DeVuono, Stephen Rocco “Rocky” (Emily) DeVuono, Diana (Mike) Damon; Cherished Grandfather (Pop) to Matt, Sierra, Dante, Lily, Zane, Dylan, Gloria, Ava, Aubrey, Brody, Reese, Lucia, Mae, Devon, Rocco and Dalton. He is predeceased by his brother Charles (Chick) DeVuono.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Tuesday May 28, 2024 at 9:30 am Holy Cross Church, 651 E Springfield Rd Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Mass, 11:00 in the Church. Int. SS Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield.
