Vincent Paul Crawford, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 20th, 2025, 7 months after the passing of his beloved wife of over 70 years, Annie Jane. He was born in Philadelphia and raised his 4 kids: Vincent, William “Bill” (Donna), Michael, and Anna (deceased) in Delaware County. He and his wife moved to Lehighton in the late 1990s, where they enjoyed the fresh mountain air and opened their home to their grandchildren. He had a strong work ethic and was employed from his early teens until the age of 77, when he and his wife returned to Delaware county to be closer to family. He is survived by 2 of his 9 siblings (Annie and Helen), his 3 sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Son of the late John E. Crawford and Helen V. Crawford. Vince came from a large family of nine. Great brothers Jack, Fran, Pat and Joe. Wonderful sisters Rita, Marie, Helen and Ann. They loved getting together with all their families, enjoying picnics at all the Jersey lakes they could find. Many times, packing up the family for day trips to the Jersey shore.
He was a devoted husband and always left loving notes to his wife before leaving for work before sunrise. He was always eager to talk about his wife when away from her at work. He missed her dearly over the last few months and is now resting with her eternally.
He worked for Acme Markets (Holmes and Wayne) for most of his life before retiring to part-time work at a local school and later a golf course where he enjoyed his time outside among the beautiful landscape he helped to create and manicure.
When he wasn’t working, he and his wife traveling around the United States with family, taking in the sights. You could also find him tinkering in his basement or garage to keep his home well-maintained for his wife. He was a Philly sports fan and always had the game on, whether it be the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, or Sixers. He was generous and often shared his nightly ice cream with his cat.
He was faithful, found comfort and joy in his routines, and was always dressed and ready for the day early in the morning. He will be remembered for his willingness to work long hours over many distances to provide for his large family.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Thursday, July 31, 2025 10:00am O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Service 11:00am, in the Funeral Home. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
