Thomas "Turtle" F. Tyrrell

Thomas F. “Turtle” Tyrrell, 73, of Clifton Heights, PA passed away on October 4, 2021.

Tom was born in Philadelphia, PA and was the son of the late William and Margaret Tyrrell (nee Hurley). He graduated from West Catholic High School, class of 1966 and served his country in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He was a proud member of the Steamfitters Local #420, where he spent several years working in the tool room and was known to take in a stray cat or two. He was a member of the Cahill Comic Brigade and for years marched in the Mummers Parade on Broad Street. He was an active member of St. Eugene, the Knights of Columbus, and the VFW Post 7213. Tom was a people person who loved life, telling stories, the Philadelphia Eagles, and all of his neighborhood dog friends. He had the ability to light up any room he walked into, was generous, kind, and would do anything for his friends and family. He was the life of the party and truly lived life to the fullest.

Beloved husband of Toni Tyrrell (nee Beavers); Loving Father to Lisa (David) Scalzo and Stepfather to Amy (Brian) Baehman; Cherished Grandfather to Anthony, Nicholas, Taylor and Morgan. Also survived by his siblings, William (Barbara) Tyrrell Jr., Margaret (Joe Begley) Tyrrell, and James (Maryellen) Tyrrell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Friday, October 8, 2021 9:00am St. Eugene Church, 200 S. Oak Ave., Primos, PA 19018 and to his Funeral Mass 11:00am in the Church. Int. Holy Cross Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Philadelphia VA Medical Center, 3900 Woodland Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19104.
