Theresa M. (Fitzpatrick) Cornwall

Theresa Cornwall (née Fitzpatrick), a resident of Drexel Hill  since 1955 and Sea Isle since 1986, died April 6, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was 91.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls and a proud member of the Civil Air Patrol during WWII.  Theresa touched a lot of lives during her career in the Upper Darby School District.  She was a long time member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and enjoyed working the “Attic Treasures” table at the Christmas Bazaar. Theresa was proud of her Irish heritage, traveling to Ireland many times and remaining active in the Philadelphia area Irish Diaspora until her death.  She will be remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, aunt and a loyal friend.  Theresa is the daughter of the late James and Margaret Fitzpatrick, wife of the late Leonard J. Cornwall, loving mother of Leonard J. (Sharon) Cornwall, Kathleen M. McGinn, Dennis P. (Trish) Cornwall, Michael S. (Karen) Cornwall, Theresa (John) Rush, Marguerite (Mark) Geiger and the late Tommy Cornwall.  Cherished Grandmom to Tracy, Eileen (Dan), Colleen (Dave), Chrissy (Matt), Andrew, John (Shannon), Caitlin, Theresa (Rob), Michael (Catie), Bridget (Shane), Helen, Tom and the late Molly, 13 great grandchildren and one on the way.  Predeceased by her siblings, the late Sr. Mary Ethel SHCJ., Margaret McKenzie, Betty Sullivan and James Fitzpatrick. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Wednesday April 10, 2024 from 6-8 pm, O'Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA, and to her Viewing Thursday 10:00 am, St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3422 Dennison Ave., Drexel Hill, PA 19026,  followed by her Funeral Mass, 11:00 am.  Int. SS. Peter and Paul Cem.  Contributions to The Irish Diaspora, 1001 Darby Rd., Havertown, PA 19083 or St. Johns Hospice, 1221 Race St. Phila, PA 19107.
