Steven Morelos Obituary

Steven G. Morelos, age 53, passed peacefully at home in Woolwich, NJ, with is loving wife Kimberly by his side after a 2 ½-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steven was the son of the late Helen (Carr) and Conrado Morelos.  He was born in Jersey City, NJ and was raised in Fairview and Cliffside Park, NJ, where he was an avid and competitive baseball and basketball player.  He graduated from Cliffside Park High School.  He later lived in Toms River, NJ.  Steven was employed by Avaya Government in Philadelphia, PA.

Steven was well known as DJ SpinMaster and had a partnership with Joe Rucci (DJ Bad Boy Joey) who he referred to as his brother.   Steven’s love of music was extensive across all genres but his favorite was Freestyle music.  Steven loved to see people dancing and having fun.  His belief was music healed the soul.

Steven loved spending time traveling or spur of the moment adventures with his wife Kim, who he lovingly referred to as Wifey or KimBella, and who Kim referred to Steven as Hubby.  Steven enjoyed their life together and they created so many fond memories boating, going to the shore, traveling, golfing, or just dropping the top and going for a car ride.  Steven believed Kim was his angel never leaving his side throughout his battle with cancer.

Steven raised three amazing children, Danny, Hailey, and Corey.  He was able to give Hailey away in marriage in a bedside ceremony just 2 weeks prior to his passing.  His children were everything to him and he was so proud of each of their accomplishments.

Of all the hobbies that Steven had, he most enjoyed spending time with his family.  His love for his family was endless. When Steven and Kim got together, he loved that he inherited an entire family.  His in-laws became like his parents who he referred to as Mom and Pops.   He enjoyed every holiday at home with the entire family celebrating together.  If you asked Steve what he wanted, he only ever wanted his family to be together, healthy and happy.

Everyone who knew Steven or had the opportunity to meet Steven had a story to tell.  Steven always helped everyone and only saw the good in people.  His heart was kind and filled with love.

Throughout his fierce 2 ½-year battle with pancreatic cancer, Steven never complained.  He even did trials and test that may one day help other people who may be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the future.  He used music as therapy to get him through.  He never wavered in faith and hope. In fact, his motto was that he was Blessed.  He even named his Camaro, truck, and boat Blessed.  Through his final days, he wanted to live, but he knew no matter his fate, that he was truly Blessed.

In remembrance of Steven, listen to music, sing and dance along to that special song that comes on, take time to think of Steven.  Steven will be up in heaven spinning those songs as only the SpinMaster can do, but this time it will be for the biggest celebration, his arrival “home.”

Steven is survived by his devoted Wife, Kimberly Morelos (Conway), loving children: son, Daniel Morelos (Adam Seifert), daughter, Hailey Petit-Clair (Raymond) and son, Corey Morelos. Siblings: Sister, Dolores Morelos, Brother, David Morelos, and Brother Dave Melanio (Gail). He is aslo survuved by his Mother and Father In-Law: Raymond and Mary Conway.
