Romeo J. D'Orazio, 92, of Del Haven, NJ, former long-time resident of Upper Darby, PA, passed away peacefully January 31, 2021. Romeo was born in Philadelphia to the late Raffele and Rose (DiCrocco) D'Orazio. Romeo was the loving husband of Kathryn (Ryan) D’Orazio for 70 years and was the devoted father of Karen (Jeffrey) Flower, Patricia (the late Gary) Schnell, Michael (Maryclaire) and Stephen (Christine) D'Orazio. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael (Janine), Lisa (James), Christopher, Timothy (Lauren), Olivia, Jessica and Julia and great-grandfather of Delaney, Viviana, Aubrey, Luciano, and Carly.
Romeo lived for and loved his family fiercely, especially his wife of 70 years, Kay. He absolutely loved being a dad, poppy and OP to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He hated the snow and loved the sun, having lived in Kissimmee, FL, with his wife for many winters over the years.
Romeo served 14 months in the Army, stationed in Germany from January 1952-December 1953. He joined the Upper Darby Police Department in 1957, serving 14 years as a patrolman and 18 years in the detective division before retiring in 1989.
Romeo was a member of St. John Neumann Parish, the Sons of Italy, the Federation of Senior Citizens and North Cape May Seniors.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Thursday, February 4, 2021 9:30am Sacred Heart Church, 316 E. Broadway Ave. Clifton Heights, PA 19018 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church. Burial Private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parish of St. John Neumann, 680 Townbank Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204.
