Robert D’Amico Obituary

Robert “Bob” Joseph D’Amico, age 77, of Primos, PA, passed away on June 11, 2020. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.  He was the son of the late Charles and Catherine (nee Aragona). He was a member of the first graduating class of Cardinal Dougherty High School. As a young man Bob found his career path early while working with his father in the barber shop. Bob worked as a barber for 60 years and was the proud owner of Robert Joseph’s Barber Shop in Brookhaven for 44 years. At Robert Joseph’s, Bob, built a community of local customers and friends. If a customer was sick and needed a haircut he would go to their home. Bob always adjusted his schedule to help out in any way he could. Bob loved being around people, and people loved being around Bob. His kind heart and infectious laugh showed through in every story, in every laugh, in every “how ya doin’ kid” and every “that’s good, that’s good”. Bob was always active and had many hobbies. He enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to his favorite The Eagles, and traveling.  A true outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed spending time working in his backyard or with friends at the Delaware County Field and Stream.

Bob married Eileen (McGlynn) November 8, 1974. Together they created a life filled with family and amazing friends.  Avid travelers, they enjoyed many trips to Italy.  One of Bob’s favorite trips was to Milazzo, Sicily seeing where his father lived as a young man. Bob enjoyed holidays with family and date night with friends, going to the movies on a Saturday night and watching old movies at home.  As an uncle Bob loved his nephew and nieces.  Enjoyed playing with his great nephews and niece and will forever be remembered for his popular elephant impersonation and his loving enthusiasm for all their activities and interests.  Bob brought laughter and kindness to everyone he met. He always knew how to make you smile.  Bob is survived by his loving wife Eileen D’Amico (McGlynn), his older brother John D’Amico and his wife Mary, his nephew John D’Amico, his sister-in-law Karen McGlynn, his brother-in-law Charles McGlynn and his wife Mary, his nieces Michele and Kristen McGlynn, his great nephews Nicholas and Ace and great niece Aubrey.   He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
