Robert W. “Bob” Bollinger, Sr., 72 of Springfield, PA passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2025.
Bob was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Stutz) Bollinger and was born in Champaign, IL. He grew up in West Philadelphia and was a member of St. Francis DeSales Parish. Bob was proud of his military service in the United States Air Force, after which he began his career as an apprentice carpenter at Drexel University. He worked hard at his craft, becoming a master carpenter and retired from his professional career as Director of Plant Operations/West Chester University.
Bob crafted wooden toys and furniture for his children and grandchildren, in addition to his tinkering around the house. He was known as the “guy who could fix anything.” For many years, Bob enjoyed coaching baseball for the Springfield Athletic Association because he related to the boys’ antics, as he was still a boy at heart. He loved spending time in Ocean City, Maryland, but actually thought the beach was “too sandy”. Bob enjoyed music, especially the “Blues” and was old school -- still listening to vinyl and CD’s. He was a man who loved “speed” and found joy in driving his Corvettes.
Beloved husband of Joan R. (Park); Loving Father of Robert W. (Lori) Jr., Kelly A. (Brian) Rogan, Lisa M. (Michael) Shea and the late Janet Marie Doherty. Cherished D-Daddy of Robert III, Lucy Joan, Guy, Michael Jr., and Eloise Marie. Also survived by his Son-in-Law Ian A. Doherty.
