Rita Adele Gock (Wells), left us unexpectedly on February 18, 2025. Daughter of the late Earnest Alonzo Wells and Rita Mary (LoGiurato) Wells; sister to Earnest A. Wells, Jr. (Barbara), Renee Strolis (Albert), Toni Ann Klimowicz (John) and the late Mary Ann Mark (Ted) and Nancy Garvey (Barry). Rita and her late husband, William Anderson Gock, Sr. were blessed with three children, Jennifer Marie Gock (Lloyd), Gabrielle R. Rubery (Chris) and William Anderson Gock, Jr. (Alexandra). Beyond being a mother, Rita was most proud of being a GeeGee to her grandchildren, Schuyler, Grace, (William) Anderson, Beatrix and Scarlett. Rita was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She graduated from O’Hara High School in ’72 and was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish.
Rita had the soul of a hippie, the hands of an artist, eyes as blue-green as the sky and a smile as wide. Before her retirement at EDS, Rita was an avid volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House, was a Girl Scout Leader for her granddaughters, a member of the Board of Directors at the Aquatic Swim Club and a P.R.E.P. instructor at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She looked forward to quiet afternoons, reading her novels, movies with “her guy,” watching her grandchildren grow up and spending time with lifelong friends. Although often doubted it would happen during her lifetime, some of her greatest memories were watching her children marry the loves of their lives.
Rita was a fighter, strong-willed and determined. While we were not ready to lose her, we will carry with us her fortitude to push on. Remember her on those warm, sunny days and know she is there.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Monday, February 24, 2025 7-9pm and Tuesday morning 9:30-10:30am O'Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd. Springfield, PA 19064.
