Rev. Dennis P. Boyle, 75 of Clifton Heights, PA, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2021.
Father Boyle was the son of the late Edward J. and Mary A. Boyle, born in Philadelphia and raised in Clifton Heights. He is a 1964 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on May 19, 1973. He served in the following parishes: St. Richard's, Philadelphia; St. Joan of Arc, Philadelphia; Queen of Peace, Ardsley; St. Ambrose, Philadelphia.
He then entered the U.S. Navy and served for 20 years with Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard assignments. During his military service Father Boyle served in Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia with the Marine Corps. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Navy, Father Boyle returned to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 2008 as a Parochial Vicar at St. Jerome Parish, Philadelphia and in 2011 was named Pastor of St. Jerome.
Father Boyle enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and loved being a parish priest and his time with the U.S. Military.
He is survived by brothers, Edward J. Boyle (Dolores) of Havertown and Richard D. Boyle (Margaret) of Clifton Heights and sisters, Winifred Shanders of Wasilla, Alaska; Mary Sylvester (Daniel) of Media and Elizabeth Ann Boyle of Clifton Heights and sisters-in-laws Helene Boyle of Havertown and Patricia Boyle of Phoenixville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grandnieces, and great grandnephew.
He is predeceased by brothers, James D. Boyle, John J. Boyle and Joseph J. Boyle, brother-in-law Richard Shanders and sister-in-law Suzann Boyle.
Relatives, Clergy, and friends are invited to his Viewing Saturday, September 04, 2021, 9:30am St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3422 Dennison Ave, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 and to his Funeral Mass 11am in the Church. Interment in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Mother's Home, 51 N. MacDade, Blvd., Darby, PA 19023.
