Raymond 'Ray' Huscher Obituary

Raymond 'Ray' B. Huscher 89, of Clifton Heights, PA passed away on January 10, 2022.

Ray was born in 1932 in Webster, NY to the late Floyd P. and Elizabeth (nee Williams) Huscher.  He graduated from Webster High School, after High School Ray enlisted in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.  Ray devoted his life to being a firefighter serving at both Merion Fire Company of Ardmore and Glenolden Fire Company. He served for the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore for 50 years, driving the truck for most of his career. His Last Alarm was February 21, 1997. He was the Chief of Glenolden Fire Company from 1976-1978 and a member before being chief and following his tenure. After being Chief in Glenolden, he became The Deputy Fire Marshal at Darby Township. He was a long-time member of the American Legion in Norwood Post #507. Ray Enjoyed his family, vacationing at his home in Margate, NJ, and especially sitting on his porch. He was a sports enthusiast who played softball growing up and with his fire companies and an avid watcher of The Eagles, The Phillies, and Penn State Football.  He cherished all his pets over the years, but especially his beloved dogs.

Beloved husband of Margaret-Anne Busch Huscher; loving Father to Gary R. Huscher (Julie Sullender), David J. Huscher, Bruce E. Huscher (Allicia), Theresa Huscher Noel (Ferdinand Jr.), Donna J. Huscher; loving stepfather to Kristina Peacock-Jones (William) and Katharine A. Sixeas (Sean); Cherished Grandfather to 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Betty Jane Toung of Webster, NY and Beverly Littell of Mesa, AZ and his brother-in-law William D. Busch (Susan). He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Frank P. Huscher of Webster, NY. Also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Friday January 14, 2022 9am O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Service 11am in the funeral home. Int. Private. Due to the current Covid outbreak the family request everyone wear a mask and social distance in the funeral home.
