Raymond Anthony "Ray" Conway, 74, of Ventnor, NJ passed away suddenly on April 3, 2024.
Ray was the son of the late Joseph and Adele (Sarkees) Conway and was born in Atlantic City, NJ on March 29, 1950and was raised in Southwest Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Bartram High School.
Ray was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his family, especially summertime on the beach with the love of his life, wife of 55 years, Mary, their daughters Lisa and Kim and his grandson Antonio. After retiring, Ray and Mary decided to make Ventnor their permanent home. Ray was well known in the community walking his dogs throughout Ventnor and Margate.
Ray was known for his humility, strong work ethic and willingness to assist others. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who instilled values of hard work, respect, dedication, and loyalty in his family.
Ray loved his life, he enjoyed vacations, music, dancing, boating, walking, biking and sports cars. If you asked Ray what his favorite thing was to do, he would always say to be with his family and his dogs, enjoying a nice dinner together and of course a chilled vodka martini. He just wanted everyone around him to be happy.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Ventnor, NJ
Ray retired from AirBorne Express after 34 years of dedicated service. He was an elected Union Representative of Teamsters Local 107 and Teamsters Local 331.
Beloved husband of Mary T. (Dougherty) Conway; Loving Father to Lisa Serratore and Kimberly Morelos; Cherished Grandfather to Antonio Serratore. Also survived by his siblings, Adele Budroe and Michael Conway. His 2 Fur Babies; Bella and Bruno and by many brother-in-law’s, sister- in- law’s, nieces, nephews, cousins and more.
He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Adele Conway, his mother and father-in-law, John and Mary Dougherty, and son-in-law Steven Morelos, who he lovingly referred to as his son.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Thursday April 11, 2024, 10AM at St. Kevin Church, 200 W. Sproul Rd. Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Mass 12pm in the Church. Burial private.
