Phyllis Abrams Obituary

Phyllis E. Abrams, 97, of Morton, PA passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024.

Phyllis was the daughter of John and Minnie Wenrich,  and was born in South Philadelphia.  She graduated from South Philadelphia High School.

Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family, going on long car rides with her children, reading the Philadelphia Inquirer and the New York times on a daily basis, and staying informed about current events and politics.   Her favorite treat was having a cup of coffee with her daily donut which her son-in-law picked up for her at Dunkin donuts after his walk, in addition to a breakfast of pancakes and sausage.  She also loved Christmas, snow and watching movies.  She was a great cook and baker, and loved making the favorite meals and cakes for the birthdays of her children and grandchildren.  She always made her children and grandchildren believe that they were the best and she believed that they could do no wrong, even though bragging was not her style.  She never judged, and always thought the best of situations. She never enjoyed being the center of attention, but always made everyone laugh without ever trying.  She lovingly called her husband "Babe" and always catered to his every need.  After marrying, she bought a house two doors away from her parents in Yeadon, PA and was always there for them.  Upon the death of her father, she purchased a larger house in Springfield, PA  so that she could move her mother in with her and made sure all of her wishes and needs were fulfilled.  She loved good perfume, and never went a day without her Chanel.

Beloved wife of Albert Abrams until his death; Loving Mother to Jacqueline Abrams, Deborah McWilliams (Steve), and Glenn Abrams.  Cherished Grandmother to Steven McWilliams (Dana), and Taylor McWilliams. Loving Great Grandmother to Patrick and Lilianna McWilliams. Also survived by her brother, Kenneth Wenrich of Lancaster, PA, and her daughter's dog Maggie who lived next door and loved spending time next to her on the couch while she watched the news and read her newspapers.  In addition to her husband, also predeceased by her parents, John and Minnie Wenrich, sisters Joyce Monaghan and Dorothy Berry, brothers Glenn Wenrich, James Wenrich, and John Wenrich.   She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
