Patrick Brady Obituary

Patrick "Paddy" Brady, 84, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his five devoted daughters and his partner, Kathleen Hopkins.

Born September 6, 1941, in Drung, County Cavan, Ireland, he was the son of the late Patrick and Susan Brady. Raised on the family's farm with his nine siblings, Paddy immigrated to Canada in 1960, where he worked in the nickel and copper mines before settling in the Philadelphia area in 1963. Following a brief time in San Francisco, he returned to the Philadelphia area and enjoyed a 37-year career with American Airlines before retiring in 2003.

In 1968, Paddy married the love of his life, Mary (née Henry), of County Mayo, Ireland. Together they built a loving home in Aldan, where they raised their family with strong values and deep pride in their Irish heritage. After Mary's passing, Paddy found companionship with his partner, Kathleen Hopkins. Together they shared many happy years, especially enjoying music and dancing at the Commodore Barry Irish Center.

An avid player of the Irish card game 25 and a lifelong lover of Gaelic football, Paddy treasured cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events and looked forward to weekly dances at the Commodore Barry Irish Center. He never missed playing his daily lottery number and enjoyed a day at the horse races, a Father's Day tradition he cherished with his family for many years.

Paddy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Brady; his brothers, Bernard and Jimmy Brady; and his parents.

He is survived by his daughters, Theresa (Bob) Anstotz, Mary Jo (Francis) Corrigan, Pauline (Tony) Tana, Colette (Jack) Darrah, and Dymphna (John Paul) Mifsud; his 12 cherished grandchildren, Mikayla, Jude, Miranda, Patrick, Shea, Shannon, Catriona, Maura, Conor, Kyle, Ryan, and Lucy; his partner, Kathleen Hopkins; his siblings: Kathleen (late Tony) Clarke, Margaret (late Colum) Clarke, John (Joan) Brady, Peter (Roisin) Brady, Patricia Dantis, Susan (Gerry) Dunne, Deidre (John) Nunn, and Lil (late Jimmy) Brady; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Sunday, July 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at O'Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA, and on Monday, July 6, from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. at Nativity BVM Church, 30 E. Franklin St., Media, PA.
