Patricia Scavetti Obituary

Patricia Ann Scavetti, born on March 26, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA and a current resident of Schwenkfeld Terrace in Lansdale, PA, peacefully departed this life on March 15, 2020 at the age of 74, and entered the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ, reuniting with her beloved son Joseph A. Scavetti Jr. Pat spent most of her life in West Philadelphia and Upper Darby, but was a “South Philly” girl through-and-through, having spent plenty of time there with her adored aunt, uncle and cousins. Her thick skin and great sense of humor helped her survive growing up in a home with two strong older brothers, whom she loved dearly. Pat was a licensed hair dresser who befriended all of her customers, and at one point owned a salon with her then husband, Joseph A Scavetti, Sr. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was raising two unique and compassionate sons as a single mother. She was always affectionate and lovingly provided for the physical and emotional needs of her boys. She passed her tremendous faith in Jesus Christ on to them, and prayed for them regularly. When early-onset arthritis shortened her hairstyling career, she humbled herself and white-knuckled countless odd jobs to keep the bills paid and food on the table. Notably, her final job came when she had significant physical limitations but was able to share her love and care by rocking babies in the infant room at Sonshine Christian Academy in Drexel Hill, alongside some of her good friends. Pat was jubilant over the births of her grandsons, Trace and Kamin, and even ventured out on a hayride with them. Patty will always be remembered for her love of God, expressive personality, caring heart, fierce loyalty to family and friends, delicious Christmas cookies, her generosity with what little she had, her tremendous sense of humor, and her sons Joseph and Julian.

Pat is preceded in death by her loving parents Luke and Olga Occhiolini, brother Ronald Occhiolini, nieces Rosemarie Occhiolini-Cox and Erma Occhiolini, and son Joseph Scavetti Jr. She is survived by her brother Luke (Sonny) Occhiolini, nephews Salvatore, Ronald, Samuel, and Luke, nieces, Angela Boyer, Meryl, Florence, and grandsons Trace and Kamin, as well as her daughter-in-law Tara and son Julian Scavetti.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday March 18th 1:30pm at Fernwood Cemetery, Lansdowne PA, for family and close friends. It was Pat’s wish that family and friends be extremely cautious during the Coronavirus outbreak. Though it will be difficult because we are an affectionate group, there will be social distancing at this graveside, and it is expected that everyone attending will respect this. We ask that you also exercise caution regarding attendance, and because of this we will video the graveside service and provide it to anyone unable to attend, upon request at onesent77@gmail.com. I encourage everyone to attend the future memorial service to celebrate her life, which will be planned when the pandemic is no longer a concern.
