Patricia Frank Obituary

Patricia Eleanor Frank (neè Getz), BSN, RN, OCN - August 27, 1948 – May 14, 2022

Pat passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She grew up in Exton, PA and always spoke fondly about her time working on the farm and riding horses. She married the love of her life, Charles J. Frank in 1969 at Saints Phillip and James Church. Together, they doted on their children, Tricia (Chris) and Charlie (Chrissy) and grandchildren Jacquelyn, Kerri, Katelyn, and Joshua. Devoted sister to brothers, James (Lin), Timothy Michael, and the late Francis. Sisters-in-law to Kathleen (the late Edward) and the late Rosie. She loved her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, too many to name.

Pat was a lifelong nurse, specializing in Oncology after her brother, Frankie, passed away from cancer. She was very active in the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and a founding member and past president of the PENNS WOOD Chapter. She very much enjoyed traveling to attend every Oncology Congress that she could, especially if the conference was close to a Disney Park. Wanting to share her passion, Pat co-authored several chapters in Oncology Nursing textbooks. She also was a big advocate for educating others of the importance of basic safety skills, so for many years she taught CPR and first aid through the American Heart Association.

Pat was incredibly caring and generous. She and Charles were very involved in many social and charitable clubs such as the Knights of Columbus, De La Salle Division and the Mother’s Club while her children were in school. After retiring, Pat and Charles moved to Windsor at Glenn Mills, and she quickly formed and led the Social Committee for the Community.

Pat was an avid gardener and loved growing her own vegetables. Some of her most cherished memories came from family trips to Disney, Williamsburg VA, and Hershey Park. You could often find her watching the Wizard of Oz or anything involving the British Royal Family or Jackie Kennedy Onassis. She loved being surrounded by her family for the holidays, showing off her impressive Christmas decoration collection.

Pat will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and felt her tremendous ability to love.
