Nicholas Marucci Obituary

Nicholas J. Marucci, 94, of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026.

Nicholas was the son of the late John and Clementina (Mastripolito) Marucci and was born in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from South Philadelphia High School, where he met the love of his life, and later continued his education at LaSalle College.

Nick and Rita were married following high school and soon after, Nick was drafted into the service during the Korean War. Nick trained as a combat engineer, but because of his talent as a trumpeter, he was reassigned to the 356th Army Band where he served for 2 years. Upon the completion of his service, the Marucci family planted their roots in Briarcliffe. They enjoyed raising their daughters there and spending time at the swim club, where Nick volunteered his time as a member of the board. The family eventually moved to Springfield, where Nick was a longstanding member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, and his three daughters attended the parish school.

His work life was a modern success story, starting on the loading dock of Stark Company, a materials packaging business, when he was a mere eighteen years old. He eventually worked his way to becoming the sole owner of the business. Because of his hard work and success, he was able to enjoy summers with his wife Rita and family at their Margate condominium. His career also provided the opportunity to enjoy business trips to many of the nicest resort locations in the world, most often with his beloved wife in tow. Nick and Rita enjoyed a vibrant social life playing cards and poker with their close friends as well as spending time at the casinos in Atlantic City. Above all, Nick's greatest joy was time spent with his entire family. His family was the motivation for his hard work, sacrifice and determination throughout his life. He never turned down the invitation for a visit, celebration, holiday or family dinner. He knew how to make everyone feel special and loved. He was their greatest supporter and their rock. Nick will be sorely missed by his family who are extremely grateful for the many wonderful years spent with him.

Beloved husband of the late Rita (Montanaro) Marucci; Loving Father of Michele (Robert) MacIntosh, Kathleen (Michael) Williamson, and the late Valerie (Charles) Somers. Cherished Grandfather to Jennifer (Christian), Alicia (Matthew), Christopher (Colleen), and Justin (Jun): and great-grandfather to Valerie, Natalie, Thomas, William, and Cailyn. Nicholas was predeceased in death by his beloved sister Loretta Palombit.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Monday, January 12, 2026, 10:30am at Saints Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct. West Chester, PA 19382 and to his Funeral Mass 11:30am in the Church. Ent. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
