Mitchell Steven Celestino, 60, of Holmes, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Steven was the son of Barbara J. (Young) and the late Mitchell Celestino and was born in Darby, PA. He graduated from Springfield High School. After graduation he spent several years at the Philadelphia Navy Yard maintaining major ships (i.e. the Kitty Hawk Air Craft Carrier). He then entered the restaurant business, meeting and greeting many people at the Springfield Inn. After the closing of the Inn, he went across the street to night supervisor at CVS .
Steven was a member of the small engine repair group. He enjoyed family gatherings- especially cooking for everyone, playing strategy games and cards with his brother, dad, and long time friends. On their weekly Wednesday night game nights, Steven would say “my Dad allowed us to “win” occasionally!” Steven owned several dogs through the years and loved them endlessly. Steven was a masterful prankster- always scheming to bring a smile to the faces of everyone around him. He also enjoyed spending his days off at his mountain house in the Poconos.
Steven is predeceased by his father Mitchell Celestino, brother Robert Celestino, brothers in law Walter O’Grady, and Dr. Jay Hendelman. Steven is survived by his siblings, Karen O’Grady, Cynthia Hendelman, Sandra (Bernard) DiSantis, and Sister in Law Sandra Celestino, also by many nephews and nieces, Christopher (Laura) DiSantis, Corinne (Vincent) Santoro, Ariana Celestino (Kevin), Dominique & Alexandra Hendelman. Great nieces and nephews , Emma and Michael DiSantis, and Benjamin Todd.
