Dr. Michael D. Walker, of Honey Brook, PA passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025 at the age of 84.
Mike was the son of the late Harry Elmer Walker and Elizabeth Reinecke Walker and was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 25, 1940. He graduated from Haverford High School in Havertown, PA in 1959. He was a proud graduate of the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida in 1963. Always cheering on his Hurricanes Football team. During his senior year at the University of Miami, he served as president of Sigma Chi (Gamma Phi chapter) Fraternity and is a Lifetime Member.
He was a member of Saint Anastasia Roman Catholic Church (Newtown Square, PA) and later Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church (Coatesville, PA). Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed being with his grandsons. He took pride in all that they did. Mike also enjoyed reading, history, working on his lawn and collecting and running his model trains with his grandsons. Mike was always one for a good joke. Mike always enjoyed telling stories of his time at the University of Miami. He enjoyed playing tennis and entertaining family and friends.
Mike started his career in education as a teacher at Brookline Elementary School in Havertown. In 1997, he retired from Manoa Elementary School in Havertown where he served as Principal from 1980 until his retirement in June 1997. In 1985, Mike received his doctorate in education from Temple University.
Beloved husband for 59 years of Reba M. (Calloway) Walker. Loving father to John D. Walker (Kelli); Cherished Pop Pop to Patrick and Sean Walker. He is predeceased by his wife Reba, his stepson Michael S. Walker, his sisters Linda Walker Coffey, Susan Walker Miller, brother-in-law John Miller and his nephew Mike Coffey.
He is survived by his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:30am Tel Hai Chapel of the Tel Hai Retirement Community, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, PA 19344. Funeral Service at 11:00am in the Chapel. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
