Martin Moran Obituary

Martin P. Moran Jr. (Marty) 82, of Broomall, PA passed away Thursday, November 26, at home, peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Marty was employed for 53 years at both General Electric and Lockheed Martin.  Marty served in the United States Marine Corps, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Elks and treasurer of the West Catholic High School Alumni. He was a true Philadelphia sports fan and longtime Eagles season ticket holder and loved watching all the home games with his boys.

Marty was happiest when spending time with family. His devotion to his family was at his core. He was his grandchildren’s number one supporter and could always be found taking in their sporting activities, plays, recitals, and all of their special events.  He enjoyed summers at the shore and sharing a few beers with his family and friends at the Anglesea Pub in North Wildwood, New Jersey. Marty loved his Irish music and was a long-time fan of the music of Blackthorn, the Shantys and most of all his son, Stephen Moran.

Marty is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Marian (Hamm), his children Danny (Peggy), Marty III (Kate), Kevin (Colleen), Jennifer Boyce (Brian), Kerry Salcedo (Lou), and Stephen (Michele).  Also, his 19 grandchildren; Danny Jr, Katelyn, Jennifer and Michael Moran, Stephanie (Pat) Nash, Meghan (Jeremiah) Quill, Shane (Molly) Moran, Kayleigh Moran, Mairéad and Kevin Moran Jr., Shaina, Gavin and Leah Boyce, Stephen Jr., Christie, Cara, Bridget, Sean, and Brian Moran.  And his 4 great grandchildren Patrick Jr., Paige, and Ryan Nash and Peyton Strasinski. He is predeceased by his sister Gerry Brassell.

To know him was to love him. He will be forever missed but has left us with a lifetime of wonderful memories to cherish.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Thurs., Dec. 3, 2020 5:30pm and Fri. 12pm St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073 and to his Funeral Mass 1pm in the Church.
