Marie A. (Cummings) Welch

Marie A. (Cummings) Welch, 91, of Swarthmore, PA, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025.

Marie was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Halloweck) Cummings and was born in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Saint Monica’s Commercial School and retired from Atlantic Employees Federal Credit Union in 1996.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace/Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her husband Jerry (Dick) during their 68 years of marriage, traveling during her retirement years, reading, dinners and movies with her friends, donating her time through Meals on Wheels, and participating in events with the senior group at church.  

Beloved wife of Jerome D. Welch; Loving Mother of Thomas (Deborah); Cherished Grandmother of Theresa Marie and great grandmother of Taylor Jamison and Ryann Nicole. Also survived by her sister, Ann Brockwell. She is predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Benfield, Joan Killough, her brother Thomas Cummings, and her sister-in-law, Joan Welch-Albers. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Friday, May 16, 2025, 9:30 am Notre Dame de Lourdes, 950 Michigan Avenue, Swarthmore, PA 19081 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30 am in the Church. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
