Margaret “Peggy” (Longen) Watts passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones on November 22, 2024, after a 10 year battle with Dementia. Born in Clifton Heights, PA, Peggy was the daughter of the late Maurice and Catherine Longen and attended Notre Dame High School. She was employed by Bell Telephone after graduation. She lived in Clifton Heights and was an active part of the community for most of her life, moving in with her daughter’s family in Secane in 2005.
Peggy was a member of St. Eugene Parish and participated for several years in the Adult Choir. She also coached CYO Cheerleading at St. Eugene and Sacred Heart Schools, and was the Owner and Director of the Keystone Cheerleaders Association for 17 years. In addition, she was active in the Clifton Heights Democratic Committee and served a term on Clifton Heights Borough Council. Peggy enjoyed music, especially the Mummers & Irish Music, Dancing, Parades, Parties, Skiing, and having a Gin & Tonic on the beach in her special cup with family & friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family, and watching her grandchildren participate in sports and other activities.
Beloved wife of the late Elwood J “Woody” Watts, Loving Mother to Peggy Jo Gilligan (Yancey), And the late Jimmy Watts (Rose); Cherished Grandmother to Jimmy Lee Watts, Kaleigh Haines (Sean), Mary Kate Gilligan, and Tara Lynn Gilligan; Adored Great-Grandmom to SJ Haines. Also survived by her Sister Christine Garchinsky (Hugh), Sister In-Law Marie Longen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends who she considered family. She is predeceased by her brother James T . Longen.
