Margaret H. (Hagerty) Farrell

Margaret H. “Peggy” Farrell, age 90 of Glenolden, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the wife of the late Thomas J. Farrell who passed away in 2015. She is also the daughter of the late Maurice J. and Helen C. Hagerty. Peggy was a proud graduate of John W. Hallahan High School, a proud resident of the Briarcliffe Community and a proud member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish for over 62 years, yet always quick to make sure everyone knew she was a South Philly girl at heart!

Her most cherished possessions were her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, never shy about telling proud stories of the accomplishments achieved and/or milestones each reached in their daily lives. Peg quickly mastered the art of texting, social media surfing and using “Facetime” to stay in touch with these important members of her family.

The past year presented some challenging medical issues but her ability to bounce back was partly driven by her goal to be the first member of her family to reach age 90. Another driving force was her desire to be present as her family was growing. She proudly would talk of how, in one month’s time, she doubled her number of Great- Grandchildren from 3 to 6 this past fall.

Peg is survived by her three sons, Jim (Gina), Jack (Nancy), Tom (Trisha); Grandchildren, Lauren (Tom), Cristin (Roger), Kelley, Melanie (Matt), Allison (Jason), Matt, Jaclyn (Jon) and Patrick, Great-Grandchildren, Tommy, Declan, Sommer, Johnny, Charlie, and Kieran.

Family and friends are invited to her Viewing, Friday, April 1, 2022 6:00PM O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd, Springfield, PA 19064, and Saturday, April 2, 2022 8:30AM in the Funeral Home followed by her Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, Secane, PA 19018. Int. SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
