Louis M. Barnes, age 99, of Clifton Heights, PA passed away on July 18. 2020. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn J. (nee Miller); devoted father of Barbara A. (Frederick) Howe, Louis M. (Joann) Barnes, Sallie (David) Dumigan; loving grandfather of Richard, Jennifer, David, Elizabeth. Laura, Christine, Sarah, Kathryn and 19 great grandchildren.
Lou attended West Catholic High School and participated on the cheerleading team. He took great pride in having served with the Navy in WWII as a signalman in the Pacific theater on a destroyer escort, the USS Lawrence C. Taylor. Following his discharge, he resumed working as a patternmaker at The Budd Company in Philadelphia, where he thoroughly enjoyed his employment for 45 years. Not long after, he met the love of his life, Evelyn J. Miller, at the Starlight Ballroom in Wildwood, NJ. They were married for 69 years until she preceded him in death in 2017.
His passions were the Phillies and the Eagles, avidly following them both. He deeply loved his family, and each member's birthday was a joy for him to celebrate their lives. Even at 99 yrs. old, there was not one birthday he did not have memorized and would truly rejoice in that loved one's life.
