Karen A. McCabe, 64, of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Born on April 4, 1961, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, Karen lived a life filled with resilience, warmth, and love.
She graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1979, where she was a member of the track and field team, serving as an anchor. Karen worked as a bookkeeper before dedicating herself full-time to being a homemaker.
Known for her sassy, stubborn, and outspoken nature, Karen also possessed a heart that was endlessly generous. Her love for animals was well known—she rescued and cared for countless dogs, giving each one a home filled with affection and comfort.
She found great joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter, Teagan. Karen loved beach trips and cherished time spent with her neighbors and friends.
She is survived by her former husband, Joseph McCabe; loving daughters, Alyssa Schossig (Zachary) and Shalyn Decena (Michael); and her cherished granddaughter, Teagan Rae Decena. She is also survived by her brother, Keith Weidenhof (Marybeth), along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marian Weidenhof.
