Julie was the eldest of three siblings born to the late Andrew and Rita Spagnoli. She was born in Philadelphia, PA where she graduated from South Philadelphia High School and entered the workforce at 17 years of age, starting her career at Philadelphia Life Insurance Company and ending her career at 75 years of age as an administrator for the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Julie met the love of her life, the late Ralph J. DeVito, when she was 17 years old. Julie and Ralph married in 1973 and started a family soon thereafter.
Julie and Ralph's favorite place was the Jersey Shore where they spent countless days on her namesake boat, the Julie D. Julie loved spending time with family and friends, hosting Christmas Eve dinner, going to the movies and theatre, traveling down to the Florida Keys, and especially dining out. She loved going to diners for breakfast, Chris' Jazz cafe for lunch and anywhere that had red wine with lots of ice for dinner! Julie's grandsons, Stephen and Ralphie, meant the world to her. She enjoyed taking them to the theatre, watching them play sports, cheering on the Phillies, Eagles, Sixers and Miami Hurricanes with them and watching movies and eating M and M's while babysitting them.
