Joyce A. Samango, 49, of Bryn Mawr, PA passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026.
Joy was the beloved daughter of Hope D. (DeHope) Samango and the late Joseph A. Samango. Born in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, she graduated from Harriton High School and Towson University, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.
A lifelong animal lover and accomplished equestrian, Joy found her greatest peace and happiness in the company of horses. She shared a special bond with her beloved horse Angel, whom she lovingly cared for for nearly 30 years. In recent years, she devoted the same love and attention to horses Stuart Little, Tommy and Raleigh. The barn was her sanctuary, and spending time caring for these remarkable animals brought her endless happiness and fulfillment.
After many years working as a case manager and advocate for children, Joy discovered her calling as a licensed massage therapist. She founded her own practice, Massage With Joy, where she combined compassion, intuition, and skill to help others find relief from pain, stress, and tension while promoting healing and wellness. Known for her “healing hands,” Joy built a devoted clientele, many of whom became cherished friends. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on everyone she touched.
Joy possessed an extraordinarily generous heart. She was kind, compassionate, and deeply forgiving, always choosing to see the best in people. A loyal friend, devoted daughter and sister, and loving aunt, she treasured her family above all else. Her five nieces and nephews brought her pride and happiness, and she gave each of them unconditional love.
Along with her mother, Hope, Joy is survived by her loving siblings, Joseph (Melissa) Samango, Michael Samango, and Lauren (Greg) Timby; her cherished nieces and nephews Ava, Joseph, Anna, Vienna, and Giuseppe. She also leaves behind countless dear friends and neighbors—many of whom became like family—each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Joy’s gentle spirit, loving nature, and unwavering compassion will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Monday, May 11, 2026 starting at 9:30am in St. Denis Church, 2401 St. Denis Lane, Havertown, PA 19083 followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00am in the Church. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
