Joseph R. Watson
Obituary
Joseph was born and raised in Southwest Philly. As a teenager he loved music and harmonizing with his buddies in his basement. He went to John Bartram High School and later he met and married his wife of 55 years Nancy C. (nee Kramer) Watson. Joe enlisted in the Army where he did a tour in Vietnam. He volunteered to go to an assault helicopter company, where he was a crew chief and door gunner. He received a medal for heroism and a commendation for his heroic actions. When he returned home he helped raise four children; Shawn J. Watson, Christopher E. Watson, Gregg A. (Tara) Watson and Stefanie M. (Donnie) Walker, 8 grandchildren, Hailey, Anthony, Nicholas, Samantha, Brandon, Emma, Olivia, Amanda and one great grandchild, Emma Rose who he loved very dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Thursday Sept. 7, 2023 10am, O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064, and to his Funeral Service, Thursday 11:30am in the Funeral Home. Int Private.
