Joseph N. Mayo, Sr. 85, of Broomall, PA passed away peacefully October 17, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
Joe was born September 13, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pa. He was a graduate of Prospect Park High School, Class of 1954. He married the love of his life, Nancy Mayo, and was happily married for 61 years. Joe worked at Pennsylvania Electric Company for 33 years, retiring in 1994. He was a diehard Eagles fan, with season tickets to Franklin Field, Veterans Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field. He shared his love of the Eagles with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Phillies fan and loved supporting his Philadelphia sports teams. Joe enjoyed golfing at McCall Golf Club. He was so proud of his three sons and loved them so much. He had the best smile. He will be remembered as a family man and social butterfly by those who knew and loved him most. Joe will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Joe He is survived by his loving sons Joseph N. (Debra) Mayo Jr, Bill N. (Susan) Mayo, also survived by 5 grandchildren Stephanie (Tom), Ryan, Nicholas, Alysa and Sean and one great grandchild Aubrey Nicole.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy (nee Brady) Mayo, his parents Nicholas and Alice Mayo, brother Charles Throckmorton, son Michael Mayo and granddaughter Kayla Marie Mayo.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Thursday October 21st, 2021, 6pm O’Leary Funeral Home 640 E. Springfield, Pa. and Friday October 22, 2021, 9:30am Viewing, St Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road Broomall, PA 19008. Funeral Mass 10:30am. Burial at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
