Joseph Michael Hargest, age 79, of Drexel Hill, PA., passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Joseph was the son of the late Thomas and Lena Hargest (nee Morroni). Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA., He graduated from St. Thomas Moore high school.
A Vietnam war veteran, Joe was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal for his courageous service to our country. He carried that same sense of duty and integrity into civilian life, building a 50 year career as owner and operator of his successful HVAC business, ACH&R Service, where he earned the lasting trust and friendship of generations of customers.
Known for his exceptional character, quiet strength and generous heart, Joe was deeply loved by all who knew him. In his free time he enjoyed watching sports; Philadelphia Flyers, Phillies and Eagles and gardening, growing his favorite jalapeños and tomatoes.
Joe is survived by his beloved partner of 17 years, Margaret Rose; his devoted sisters, Rosemary and Joan; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lena, his two brothers Thomas and Edward, and his sister Janet.
Relatives and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Joe's life on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 10am O'Leary Funeral Home, 640 East Springfield Rd, Springfield PA., 19064 followed by a Memorial Service at 11 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial Private.
