He is survived by siblings Dennis (Maryanne), Bob (Donna), Pat Donovan (Ed), Peg DiGiovanni (Angelo) and predeceased by his brother Jerry and brother-in-law to Jim Schickling (Chris) and Suzanne Russo (Dave).  Joe was so loved by his 18 nieces and nephews and 29 great nieces and nephews who often called him FUNCLE Joe.  Joe also had so many people he considered “framily”.

Joe graduated Roman Catholic High School in 1981 and graduated St. Joseph’s University in 1985 with a degree in Food Marketing, where he met in the library his future wife Maureen.  They married in October of 1988 and had 34 years of happiness, adventure and traveling the world with family and friends. One trip highlight was when Joe and Maureen celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary at Oktoberfest in Munich Germany.  Another highlight of his was to visit Icelandin February to view the Aurora Borealis. One last wish was to visit Spain and Portugal which he was able to do last month.

Joe was employed by Mondelez International (Nabisco) since 1985.  Working in various sections of Philadelphia and South Jersey, Joe made friends everywhere he worked.

Joe loved hockey and especially the Flyers. Joe and Maureen had Flyers’ season tickets from 1988 through the 2019-2020 season.  He was President of the Flyers Fan Club from 2006 to 2017 where he made many life-long friends. Joe loved talking on his phone.  A favorite thing was for Joe to make nightly 10 pm calls from his seat in the garage to check in on family and friends.
