Joseph Owen Carroll, III

Joseph Owen Carroll, III 76, of Springfield, PA passed away on May 18, 2021. Son of the late Joseph and Margaret Carroll, son in law of the late Robert and Theresa Kauffman and loving husband of Kathy.

Joseph graduated from Springfield High School in 1964, attended electrical trade school and became a master electrician.  Joseph owned and operated the business, Joseph Carroll Electric. He was previously employed by Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital as an electrician in the maintenance department and Berley Electric. In recent years, he was a crossing guard for Springfield School District.

Joseph served in the US Army as a medic and Delaware National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Springfield Fire Company joining in 1964. He was a firefighter, captain of fire police and volunteered for Springfield Ambulance Corps. He was a member of VFW, Vietnam Veterans American Legion and Men of Malvern.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen M. (Kauffman), his sisters, Elizabeth Schneider (Jay) and Susan DiGiacomo (Lou). Also survived by his sister in law, Theresa Campbell (David), brother in law, Robert Kauffman (Mary) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Anne Carroll and brother, George Carroll.
