John “Jack” Heckman Obituary

John “Jack” Heckman, peacefully passed away on January 19, 2024.  Jack was born on March 7, 1956, to the late Paul and Barbara Heckman in Delaware County.   Jack was a devoted and loving Husband and loving Father, Grandfather (“Pop-pop”), Brother, Uncle and friend to many.  He is survived by his Wife, Linda (Karolyi), Children, Chris (Jamie), Matt, and Jessica, Grandchildren Adrianna, Jayden, Lillyana, Molly, Bradley, Madison, Ryan and Tyler. Jack was predeceased by his brother, Paul Heckman, Jr. (Kandy) and is survived by his sister, Dorothy McLoughlin (Mike), his sisters and brothers-in-law Eva Greagor (the late, Butt), John Karolyi (Noreen), Elizabeth Karolyi, and George Karolyi (Marie) and his many nieces and nephews.

Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He was an avid Philadelphia Sports Fan, just recently attending a Phillies’ playoff game with his son, Chris.  He was a long-time employee of Diamond Tool and Fasteners in Grays Ferry, where he met and became life-long friends with many of the employees and customers.  He will be greatly missed by his friends and co-workers.

Jack spent much of his time over the years at “The Lodge” where he enjoyed relaxation time after a nice round of golf at Cobbs Creek Golf Course.  He enjoyed his Corona and Baileys and unwinding after a long day at the office.

Jack’s favorite thing to do was to visit Mexico every year with his wife, Linda.  He enjoyed golf and up until recently, would attend a yearly golf trip with his friends.  Jack enjoyed the times that he got to spend with family, including the several Grandparents’ Days he attended with his grandkids, Molly, Bradley and Ryan.  He enjoyed Christmas Eve at Chris’s house with his children, grandchildren and in-laws every year.  He loved to come and support his grandkids at their swim meets.

Jack was a quiet and simple man but when he loved you, you knew that he loved you.  He would do anything for the people that he loved.   He will surely be missed by anyone that had the pleasure to know him.

A visitation is scheduled at O’Leary’s Funeral Home in Springfield, Pennsylvania on Thursday January 25th 2024 from 10:00am-11:30am.  A Memorial Service will be held at O’Leary’s Funeral Home following the visitation, interment private.
