John Viscomi

John Viscomi of Wildwood Crest, NJ, Philadelphia and Delaware County, PA, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2022.

John was the son of the late Antonio Viscomi and Teresina Celia and born in Petrizzi, Calabria in Italy.   He emigrated to the United States at the age of 17. He was a member Notre Dame De La Mer Parish. He was devoted to his family and loved playing with his grandchildren on the beach.  He loved his backyard garden of tomatoes, peppers and figs. 

John served proudly in the US army in Korea shortly after becoming a US citizen.  He flew the flag outside his home every day. He was a union carpenter and was proud of his work as a finish carpenter/cabinet maker.  Throughout his life, he proudly reminisced of the jobs he completed.

Beloved husband of Sylvia (Patane); Loving Father to Anthony, Joseph (Marianne), Jeannette and Theresa (David) Rauffer; Cherished Grandfather of Joseph, Elena, Alex, Nicholas, Benjamin and Grace; Great Grandfather of Teo and Luca. Also survived by his siblings Vincent and Antoinette. He is predeceased by his his sister Marie.  He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and more both in the US and in Italy.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Wednesday, April 13th 9:30am St. Kevin Church, 200 W. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Contributions in his name to Notre Dame De La Mer Parish, 1500 Central Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ 08260.
