JOHN M. SEIFRIED, age 71 of Morton, PA passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 26, 2025, at Riddle Hospital in Media. He is predeceased by his parents William and Catherine (McCann) Seifried. He is survived by his siblings William Seifried, Michael (Carla) Seifried, Marian Hayes (Mark), Gregory (Marissa) Seifried, many nieces and nephews who are spread across the United States, and his loving, adorable cat, Gabby.
John was born in Drexel Hill, PA. He graduated from Cardinal O’Hara Catholic High School in 1971, where he played football, and earned All Catholic and All Delco honors in 1970. He attended Drexel University where he majored in Accounting. John worked many different jobs over his life. He was the Head of Maintenance at Green Country Village Condominiums, he delivered pizza for Drexel Hill Pizza, and he was a Line Supervisor at Mars Electronics just to name a few.
One of John’s favorite places to visit was Las Vegas. He could be found at the blackjack tables in many of the casinos or playing a round of golf on several of the courses. He loved to go to the racetracks as well and place wagers on the horses. He did not always pick the winners, he just enjoyed watching races and surrounding himself with family and friends. John often tried his luck at the lottery and always loved a good block pool.
John was an amazing uncle to 6 nieces and 8 nephews. He always came to visit with Beanie Babies, baseball cards or treats in hand. He participated in annual Christmas festivities and became the honorary guest at the New Year’s Day “meal”. He often supported their school fundraisers and was proud of all their accomplishments.
John surrounded himself with many amazing friends, most of whom he befriended over the years at R.P. Murphy’s, Duke’s Tavern (now O’Connell’s Pub), Jack’s Tavern and the Kup. He had a handful of buddies he knew his entire life. He was a gentle person that loved his people and pets unconditionally. We are all blessed to have known this amazing man.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Saturday, February 1, 2025, 9:00AM, Holy Cross Church, 651 E Springfield Road, Springfield, PA 19064, and his Funeral Mass 10:00AM in the Church. Int. SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
