James Vincent Reiley, 88, of Newtown Square, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023.
James was the son of Katherine and Vincent Reiley and originally from Philadelphia. James graduated from West Catholic High School, Class of 1954. James was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Hughes); Loving Father to Sarah Murray, Jim (Debbie), Tom (Bernadette), Marie (Bill) Neill. Cherished Grandfather to Linda Malone, Sarah Murray, Sean Murray, Kristin Safris, Courtney Reiley, Brittany McConnon, Shannon Counsellor, Bill Neill and TJ Reiley and five great- grandchildren. James is survived by his sister Eileen and husband Ed Wakley and sister- in- law Anna Millison.
James enjoyed spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. He also enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Europe with his close friends. James was a man of faith and an active member of Our Lady of Fatima parish and Cardinal O’Hara High School. He loved volunteering at the Fatima carnival where he ran games and sold chances. He was the founding member of the Lunch Club for the homeless at Cardinal O'Hara. James was named “Man of the Year” in 2001 at Cardinal O'Hara. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 761 and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Black Jack Kehoe. James loved woodworking and carpentry and spent many hours in his woodshop creating wood designs for his family and friends.
James worked for Sears Roebuck as a truck driver for 20 years. Prior to his retirement, he spent the last fifteen years working for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Thursday, March 30, 2023 9:30am Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Dr. Secane, PA 19018 and to his Funeral Mass 11am in the Church. Int. SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
