James L. McMullen

James L. McMullen, 91, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025.

Jim was the son of the late Sam and Helen McMullen. Born in Danbury, CT the family moved to South Philadelphia where Jim graduated from South Philadelphia High School.

After serving in the Navy, Jim raised his family in Sharon Hill where he was an active member of Holy Spirit Parish. Later, when Jim moved to Drexel Hill, he was an active member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish.

Watching the Eagles and Flyers were two of his favorite past times as well as being torn between the St. Joe Hawks and the Villanova Wildcats. In his retired years he enjoyed spending time with his family and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.

Loving father of Joanne McCandless (Jack), Helene Smith (Mark), Timothy McMullen (Mary), and Maura Ewing (the late Ray). Cherished Poppy to 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Jim was predeceased by his wife Mary (1980) and Marge (2008) and his brother, Ed.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing at 9:30am at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am in the Church. Interment will be at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
