James “Jim” J. McHale, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on April 25, 2022.
Jim was born in Philadelphia to the late James J. Sr. and Eleanor (nee Neville). He graduated from West Catholic High School in 1955 and Villanova University in 1959. Jim was a long-time resident of Drexel Hill.
Although he held many respected positions within the community, such as president, director or chairman of businesses, civic, and religious organizations, Jim never sought any of these positions. He was simply unable to say “no” to anyone who asked for his help.
Jim’s worldly accomplishments were not important to him. He wanted to be remembered for having loved God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with all his heart, with all his mind, with all his soul, and with all his very being. He loved all of humanity, most especially his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Margo McHale (nee Carson), and his children Monica McHale-Small, Maureen McHale Hull (David), Megan McHale McLaughlin (Patrick), and Matthew McHale (Lori), daughter-in-law Donna Schreiber, son-in-law Charles Small, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Jim was predeceased by his oldest son, James J. III and his only brother, Thomas E. McHale.
