“Jimmy Here”…one of his favorite ways to answer his phone.
With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Robert McGonigle (“Jimmy”) of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Jimmy passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2024 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people.
Jimmy was the son of the late James and Ann McGonigle. He graduated from Bonner High School and went on to receive a B.S. degree in Economics at Widener University along with an M.B.A. in Finance at Drexel University. He was a member of Mensa, featured in ‘Who’s Who in America” in 2023, a published author of a poem “Our Fading Flag” and was also featured in Millenium Magazine detailing his program, Operation Key West (operationkeywest.org). During Covid in 2020, he created a free, audio book entitled “No Place For Common Sense” an autobiography which reflects his life’s journey as a serial entrepreneur (noplaceforcommonsense.com).
Jimmy was the beloved husband of Kathleen McGonigle; loving father to his daughters, Patricia McGonigle and Suzy Cole (husband Chris); his sons, Joseph Clark (wife Stephanie) and Brian Clark (wife Essie); his adopted daughters, Lynn and Esther; cherished grandfather to Annjeanette Cole, Kim Cole, Tony Cole, Danny Cole, Nicholas Cole, D’Angelo Cole, Ryan Taylor and Abbi Clark.
Though his name may fade from the annals of time, the imprint “Jimmy” leaves upon the hearts of those he loved and who truly loved him, remains eternally vivid…a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his honor to www.operationkeywest.org, which has been his passion for the past ten years.
