James W. Lonergan

James (Jim) W. Lonergan, 74, of Glen Mills (formerly of Springfield), PA passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.

Jim was the son of the late Frank and Betty (Young) Lonergan. He graduated from Upper Darby High School and St. Joseph’s University.

He retired from Verizon Communications in November 2003 after 37 years of service in the outside operations area. He enjoyed spending time with his family, socializing with his friends, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also loved  visiting the South Jersey shore, going to the casino with his wife and was an avid lover of dogs and music. 

Beloved husband of Bernadette (Donegan); Devoted father of Kimberly, Chrissy (Chris) Hall and Lori; Cherished Pop to Aidan, Devin, Sienna and Mason. He is predeceased by his father Frank X. Lonergan, his mother Betty Lonergan, his brother Frank R. Lonergan, his son Jimmy Lonergan, and his twin daughters Elizabeth and Mary Lonergan. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and more.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Monday, December 5, 2022 6pm, O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 and Tuesday 10am St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Ave. Springfield, PA 19064. Funeral Mass, Tuesday 11am in the Church. Int. Private. Contributions can be made to St. Katherine’s Day School 930 Bowman Ave, Wynnewood PA in memory of Jim & Jimmy Lonergan.
