James J. Hickey, 86, of Upper Darby, PA passed away February 2, 2021.
Beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Sproul) Hickey; loving father of Colleen (Frank) Gallagher, James J. Hickey Jr., and Suzanne (Greg) Wilhelm; cherished Pop-Pop of Adam, Samantha, Owen, Aaron, Sean, Brendan, Matthew, Jillian, Meghan, Madison, Ryan and the late William; brother of Joseph Hickey. James is also survived by his daughter-in-law Tracy Hickey and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Philadelphia, attended St. Philomena’s grade school and Lansdowne High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps after high school and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1957. Jim met and married the love of his life, Pat, in September 1959. He studied Engineering at Temple University and had a long career in engineering sales. He enjoyed entertaining his family and friends, his Irish music and spending time with his grandchildren. Jim’s home away from home was on the back dock in West Wildwood. He referred to it as “The Irish Riviera”. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Laurence Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Saturday, February 6, 2021 12:45pm St. Denis Church, 2401 St. Denis Lane, Havertown, PA 19083 and to his Funeral Mass 1:30pm in the Church. Int.
