Jack Keammerer, 76 was called to the Lord on April 30, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Jack was born in Harrisburg on July 5, 1949. He was the son of the late Luther Eugene Keammerer and Margaret Caroline (Seitz) Keammerer. Jack graduated from John Harris High School in 1967 and Elizabethtown College in 1971 where he earned a B.S. degree in biology. Upon college graduation, he was employed by the Federal Government as a research scientist for the University of Pennsylvania. The following year, he received a teaching assistantship and earned a masters degree in biochemistry nutrition from Virginia Tech.
Jack spent the majority of his career in the science field and was employed by CHOP, Jefferson, and GlaxoSmithKline. He was also the owner of a “mom and pop” fitness and nutrition store in Broomall.
Jack devoted much of his life to the sport of powerlifting, beginning his competitive career as a teenager and continuing well into his fifties. Over the years, he earned numerous medals at both national and world competitions. A defining moment came in 1972, when he won the gold medal at the AAU Men’s World Powerlifting Championships. His passion for strength, health, and fitness never faded—he remained dedicated to training and went on to inspire others as a powerlifting coach.
Jack enjoyed vacationing in Wildwood, New Jersey, and the Pocono Mountains. He was a loyal Eagles fan and took great pride in attending his grandson’s musical performances.
Jack was the beloved husband of Patricia (Kane) Keammerer for 48 years; a loving father to Lisa Keammerer and Jaclyn (Thomas) Murphy; and a cherished grandfather to Patrick. He is also survived by his brother, David (Lorrie) Keammerer.
Jack will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered as the heart of his family.
