Isabelle Mary (Padian) Gallagher

Isabelle M. Gallagher (nee Padian), beloved wife of the late John M. (Jack) Gallagher died peacefully on May 11, 2020.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Margaret T. and Henry J. Padian and a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls.

After their marriage in 1964, Isabelle and Jack resided in the Washington, D.C. area in The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish.  As a devout Catholic, wife and mother, she became involved in many church functions.  In addition, she was active in the Irish Societies serving as Grand Marshall and President of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  She was also a huge sports fan and an avid reader.

Upon retirement from the Union after 30 remarkable years of service, which took her to many cities in the United States and Canada, Isabelle worked part time for her Parish until she fractured her hip in 2013.

Isabelle was a very social person with her radiant smile, laughter and good humor.  She will be sadly missed and remain forever in our hearts.

Isabelle is survived by her son, John (Kelly) and five grandchildren of Rockville, MD; sister, Margaret A. Burke; nephew Sean (Despina) and Grandniece of Springfield, PA and numerous friends and relatives.

Due to the current pandemic crisis, burial was private.
