Irene E. (Eliot) Keast

Irene E. Keast, 69, of Springfield, PA passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024

Irene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Luz Eliot and was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. The daughter of a Naval captain, Irene travelled frequently throughout her childhood, alongside her two sisters. She graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor's degree in journalism.

She was a devout Catholic and her religion brought her great joy and comfort always. Irene firmly believed in following Christ's teachings and was always eager to greet family, friends, or strangers with a big smile and a genuinely loving disposition. She enjoyed reading books all evening and taking walks around town, or at the local park. She loved and was the primary caretaker of the many pets in the Keast household over the years and she was a very motivated amateur dog trainer. Painting was another one of Irene's passions in life, and she would spend hours in her art room, eventually emerging with a beautiful oil painting on canvas to show her family. She loved to paint gorgeous landscapes with mountains and trees, horses, birds, and her vision of the Blessed Mother. Of all the things that made her life so vibrant and special, nothing supersedes her unwavering faith and the love she had for her family. As a homemaker for most of her adult life, she meticulously doted on her husband and two sons, creating a truly blessed home that felt safe, loving, exciting, and fun all at once. Irene created a lifetime of memories for her family with a smile on her face until the end. Becoming a grandmother to two beautiful children in recent years was an overwhelming joy to Irene and she took every opportunity to spend time with them and watch them grow. Known as "Mom-mom" to her grandchildren, she stepped into the matriarch role of the family with grace and continued to be a beacon of light and love for the newest additions to the family.

Beloved wife of William Keast, III; Loving Mother of William Keast, IV with his wife Kelly (MacDonald) and Jacob Keast with his Fiancé, Mary Covert. Cherished Grandmother to William Keast, V and Keira Keast. Also survived by her sister, Evelyn Lewis. She is predeceased by her father Joseph Eliot, her mother Luz Eliot, and her sister Sandra Eliot. She is also survived by many cousins and more.
