Gregory Ewing Obituary

Gregory Walter Ewing of Drexel Hill passed away peacefully after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease on July 2, 2026. He was 63 years old.

Greg was the son of Vince and Evelyn Ewing and was born in Darby. He grew up in Collingdale and later moved to Drexel Hill. He graduated from Saint Katherine’s Day School in Wynnewood.

He was a member of DELARC and proudly worked at several of Elwyn’s Work Activity Centers, where he dedicated 40 years of service before retiring in 2023.

Born with Down syndrome, Greg lived a life that touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. He had a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a remarkable ability to bring joy through life’s simplest moments. His hugs were legendary. Greg never met a stranger. His joy was contagious, and he had a special gift for making everyone he met feel like a friend. He reminded us every day of the importance of kindness, patience, and unconditional love.

Greg found happiness in the simple things that made life special. He loved music, especially the songs of John Denver and Barry Manilow, which could always bring a smile to his face. He enjoyed spending hours working on seek-and-find puzzles and was a master hook rugger, creating beautiful pieces with patience and pride. He also loved watching his favorite television shows, especially The Golden Girls and The Facts of Life, along with many other classics on the TV Land network. These everyday pleasures brought him comfort and joy throughout his life.

He was a cherished uncle to Matt Nolan (Corrine) and Luke Nolan (Kayleigh), and a proud great-uncle to Luke Jr., Delaney, and Paige. He is also survived by his brother, Vince Ewing (Keith), and his sister, Charlene Lawrence (Donna). He was predeceased by his parents, Vince and Evelyn Ewing, and his beloved Geri Ann, who passed away before him. He is also survived by many cousins and numerous friends.

Though Greg’s earthly journey has ended, his beautiful spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, nurses, and hospice staff at Little Flower Manor and Holy Redeemer for their compassionate care. They also thank the many family members and friends who supported Greg with kindness and love throughout his journey.

A private graveside service will be held for the family.

A Celebration of Greg's Life will be held in the fall. The date, time and location will be announced at a later time.
