It is with great sadness that the family of Gina Marie Vannello announce her passing on Thursday June 10, 2021. Gina was born to Thomas Vannello Sr. and Margaret “Peggy” Vietro (Pre-Deceased) on July, 23, 1971. Gina will be lovingly remembered by her Father (Thomas), siblings Thomas Jr., Michael, and Anthony.
Born and Raised in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School, Gina pursued a career in the medical profession after attending Pennsylvania Technical Institute. As a long-time private practice medical assistant Gina enjoyed her most fulfilling years of her professional life working for Dr. Kraus and Dr. Li for more than 20 years.
Gina spent summers in Wildwood with Reds (Aunt Carol), and most days after school playing fill in goaltender for three brothers who loved hockey. Gina was an avid reader, enjoyed a great love of sunflowers, and spent most of the 80s and 90s idolizing hair bands with her own great high hair.
Truly a family person, Gina was a sweet, gentle, unconditional spirit who adored her nieces and nephews; Sophia, Tessa, Ali, Jack, and Miriam. Gina will be remembered always for the infectious laugh (more like a “giggle” a longtime family friend says) she had while playing with the kids at gatherings around holidays or our wonderful Sunday dinners. Gina and her best friend and side kick Peggy would spearhead family dinner prep for our gatherings on Sunday that continued a cultural and traditional staple of our family.
Gina possessed a great passion and compassion for animals, her long-time pet Dalmatians Sadie and Stella provided such great comfort, companionship and therapy while Gina endured her long battle fighting Lupus. Many of our adolescent memories to our most recent adult days include Gina and her beloved Dalmatians.
With Gina’s spirit and passion in mind the family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the below organizations:
