Gerald “Jerry” Mitchell passed away peacefully on January 10, 2021 at the age of 84, at the Brightview Senior Living, Devon, PA. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges, always with a positive outlook. Despite the pain, Jerry came out a hero and stayed strong until the very end surrounded by his children in his final days.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Margaret (Quinn) Mitchell and his brother, Harry Mitchell. He is survived by his brothers, Robert (Bobbie) and James (Jean) Mitchell. His three children: Kim Althoff, Jennifer Wilson (Dave), Chris Mitchell (Julie), his five loving grandchildren: Taylor, Brooke and Jake Wilson & Samantha and Luke Mitchell, step grandchildren Peter and Megan Althoff and their father Tod Althoff, Sister-in-law Dympna Mitchell and many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Jerry’s loves in life were his grandchildren, his successful career in the JanSan industry and the valuable friendships he formed; his peaceful years at the Jersey Shore - Barnagat Light; breakfast at his favorite diners; enjoying a glass or two of red wine and telling his family and dear friends wonderful stories and lots of laughs.
