Gale (Berglund) Douthwaite

Gale (Berglund) Douthwaite, 68, of Prospect Park, PA passed away suddenly on December 29, 2024.

Gale was the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Berglund and was born in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Collingdale High School in 1974, Graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1977.

She was a member of the Clearview United Methodist Church in Southwest Philadelphia.  She was an avid animal lover, loved going & spending the Summers at her "Happy Place" in Big Timber Lake camping resort, spoiling her 3 Grandchildren, listening to her "Oldies", and spending time surrounded by her family & friends at family functions. She always crafted with her grandkids, making as many memories as possible.

Beloved wife of Jay Douthwaite; loving mother of Jason (Megan), Andrew (Brittany); cherished Nanny to 3 beautiful Grandchildren: Emily (9), Benjamin (5), and Harper (3). She is also survived by countless family & friends, who all carry stories & memories with them that will live on forever.

Relatives & friends are invited to her Viewing on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 5pm and Monday, January 6, 2025 at 10am, O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064. Gale’s Funeral Service will be Monday at 11am, in the Funeral Home. Int. Glenwood Memorial Gardens. Casual clothes are preferred, as Gale would have wanted everyone to be comfortable.
