Francis J. Goodwin, age 66 of Spring City, Pa. formerly of Norwood, Pa. passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022.
Franny, the son of the late Lawrence J. and Regina (nee Carney) Goodwin, was born in Philadelphia and was raised in Clifton Heights, Pa.
After graduating from Monsignor Bonner High School, he enlisted in the U.S.Navy. When his service with the Navy was completed, he continued to work for the government as a civilian at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for the Naval Ship System Engineering Station. While working for the Navy he was able to travel the world and loved to share his experiences. The PNSY closed in 1995 and Franny went to work for The Kirkbride Center in West Philadelphia.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hunting and fishing. His beloved Chesapeake Bay retrievers Triton, Gus and Maloney had been his hunting companions over the years.
He is survived by his devoted sisters, Jeanne Goodwin and Ann (Joe) Catenacci, nephews Christopher and Thomas Catenacci, and niece Carly Catenacci. Also survived by his loving companion Linda Eife and her daughter Jessica (Jim) McInnis and their children Clare and Devon.
As per his wishes services will be held private for the immediate family.
