Francis P. Burns was born on September 7, 1943 in Uvalde, Texas to Francis P. Burns and Margaret M. Anderson, both deceased. His father’s Air Force postings led them to live in Sabinal, TX, and Walla Walla, WA but Philadelphia, PA was home.
He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School and completed a BS in Accounting from Villanova University while working through night school. Married to his beloved wife, Holly Cullen in 1963. He worked as a Clerk with the FBI for 3 years, a Staff Accountant with Firestone Tire & Rubber for 3 years, and finally with MAB Paints for 38 years in a variety of positions, finishing as Corporate Controller at retirement in 2008.
He enjoyed every minute of retirement, especially the time he spent in Florida each winter along with his dear wife Holly, but had no greater joy than watching his 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren grow up. He loved to fish, traipse Civil War battlefields, read, study history and “do lunch”.
